If your sewer ejector pump stopped pumping, it can be few reasons to consider.motor failures, faults in the control panel, blockages and clogs, or even a power outages.

Signs when you need a new pump :
- your pump won't start
- your pump is making strange sounds
- your pump is constantly cycling

If your pump is ferally new, then the issue can be possibly resolved without a new pump installation.
on average, sewer ejector pump will last 7-10 years, but with proper and regular cleaning and maintenance they can last even longer.

Sewer pumps can get clogged with toilet paper,  baby wipes. This is the most common issue.
A blown fuse or malfunctioning float switch - part of electrical problem.
Or even improper installation, possible that the tank is too small.

It is important to perform routine cleaning and maintenance at least once or twice a year.

Do you recommend annual maintenance of the sewer ejector pump and pit cleaning ?

Yes, sewer ejector pumps should be regularly cleaned by a experienced technician. We recommend routine maintenance once or twice a year.
Pit needs to be sealed with a removable cover,  ensure the seal between the basin is intact.
The cover maintains pressure in the basin, keeps debris out, reduces smell.
To eliminate odor , you can run bucket of hot water with baking soda and vinegar. Repeat if needed.
