. 2. **Safe Access and Egress**:Workers must have safe access and egress to and from excavations, including ladders, steps, ramps, or other safe means of exit for trenches 4 feet or deeper. These access points must be located within 25 feet of all workers.

3. **Inspections**: A competent person must inspect the excavation site daily and as conditions change to ensure the elimination of excavation hazards.
